My day at Christian Dior Counter!

I got a sms from Retail Solutions at 8:30am for a job at Debenhams located in Clapham Junction. The shift is from 10:30-7:00 and there is no way i could get there in time especially not knowing the area and having to catch a train. But i managed to get there just in time!

I was working at the Christian Dior counter today but for some reason there was only 1 permanent staff along with another agency myself. The permanent staff was at the YSL counter and the other agency was at the Lancome counter. There were HEAPS of counters that had no staff like Estee Lauder, Chanel, Elizabeth Arden and Givenchy. I had to run from Counter to Counter assisting Customers most and getting the goods for them behind the Counter.

Today was my first experience at a retail counter as an Agency at the Christian Dior counter and i was ALL BY MYSELF! YEP! My first time at the counter and i was ALL ALONE! But luckily i had the girl next door from the YSL to help me.

I really enjoyed my firsy day because it was a really good experience meeting different and also 'managing' different Counters at the same time.

There is a good and bad side about working at Retail counters especially as an Agency. I had no idea where all the stock was kept on my Counter and to make things worse i had to go from counter to counter to find goods for other customers! I probably spent the first half of my morning finding the products but by the end of the night i started to know where things were kept.

How the hell is are Makeup Artist suppose to work without ANY makeup brushes??? I had to do a Clients makeup (applying eyeshadow) with my fingers because i had no access to any brushes!!!

The good thing about working as an agency is that you don't work at the same Counter all the time. You get the opportunity to move from Counter to Counter and learn about different Brands and products, and also you get to meet new people all the time!

Another good thing about working as an Agency is that there is no money involvled. Well b/n me and the Customer anyway. I don't do any transactions at all so i just lead my customers to the Counter and the permanent staff deal with them.

Overall i did enjoy my very first day! Although it was REALLY quite i still managed to make some sales!

Oh i need to rest my poor legs!!!! My legs are KILLING me from standing all day!! i need a good massage LOOL.

Retail is very tiring but it can be fun as well. I live very near to Clapham Junction :-)

How are you finding London? I hope you are enjoying your visit.

that sounds so interesting and fun. I was wondering if you know of any similar agencies that provide such services in North Ameerica or Australia region? I never heard of Retail Solutions before and googled it and was surprised to know such thing existed! I think its a cool idea.
